About Me

I am a qualified Mental Health/Disability  Support Worker who relates well to clients and their families, due to my previous work and own personal lived experience. My aim as a Peer Support Worker is to facilitate a collaborative environment that fosters opportunities for independence, personal growth, and social acceptance. I have 8 years’ experience in the Mental Health/Disability sector, providing a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role.

I work from a supportive base, with compassion, empathy, kindness, professionalism, and client self-direction, combined with the use of strong interpersonal and communication skills. By utilising strong relationships with a local network of agencies, I work side-by-side with the individual to provide them with wide and varied skill development opportunities. I have strong abilities in understanding client needs and by working in conjunction with a broad range of professionals, I can successfully assist clients in their recovery and capacity to manage their own lives. I use a holistic viewpoint for the empowerment of the NDIS participant, to develop their self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth, through achieving their own personal goals.

"We all deserve the best quality of life that is possible in our own personal situation", this is the key philosophy that I embrace in the work that I do. I also understand the importance for consistency of service so I never make promises or guarantees that aren't possible.  Through Recovery/Care Planning we can set a blueprint for the future, where the person can move at their own pace in reaching fulfillment and happiness in their life.
